Fukui Castle in Spring

When you want to see cherry blossoms in Fukui City and ask around where you should go first, you'd be told to go either to the banks of Asuwa River or this place, Fukui Castle Ruins. Located a 10 minutes walk from JR Fukui Station, Fukui Castle Ruins is one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Fukui City. Inside the ruins, the Fukui Prefectural Office now stands, so this is not only the tourist spot but also a place local people frequent daily. As you can see from the photos, the ruins are enhanced by beautiful cherry blossoms each spring, and bring pleasure to the eyes of the passersby day and night throughout the season.
