A special exhibition taking place at the Yokosuka Museum of Art looks at the influence that airplanes have had on the art world. Around 50 works in total will be on display at the event, many of which date back to the 1930s and 1940s when flying was still seen as having some mystery and allure surrounding it. Some of the artists featured include Koshiro Onchi, Kenichi Nakamura, and Ryuko Kawabata.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 1000 yen, and no advance reservations are required.

Getting there

The Yokosuka Museum of Art can be easily accessed by bus from either Maborikaigan Station (Keikyu Main Line) or the JR Yokosuka Station. Take the Keikyu bus bound for Kannonzaki, and alight at the stop for the Keikyu Kannnonnzaki Hotel and Yokosuka Museum of Art. From there, the museum is just three minutes away on foot.

Alternatively, for those who opt to drive, the museum is 3 kilometers (approximately 5 minutes driving time) from the Maborikaigan IC on the Yokohama-Yokosuka Toll Road. Paid on-site parking is available for up to 120 vehicles.
