At full moon it's certainly one of the most romantic places I can imagine

History is re-created in Nara every year in August when tens of thousands of candles are lit up in the Nara Park, similar to when the city thrived as a capital 1300 years ago. Nara Tokae, as the lantern festival is called, lasts for ten days, usually in the beginning of August. Enjoy this full moon day photo story to get an idea of the unique atmosphere at that time.
