Yokohama Stadium (横浜スタジアム) is located in Naka-ku, Yokohama and is a multi-purpose sports stadium. This stadium has capacity for 30,000 people and is currently being expanded. Today, the stadium is primarily used as a baseball stadium for the home field of the Yokohama DeNA BayStars.
In the past, Yokohama Stadium has been used as an Australian-rules football field with crowds rivaling those of its native Australia. Some internationally famous artists have also performed at Yokohama Stadium; the most notable being Sanata (1981), Michael Jackson (1987), and Madonna (1990).
Also, look forward to some classic ball game foods as well as Japanese hand-held foods readily available from the original Bayside Alley inside the stadium. From curry bread to jalapeno hot dogs, chicken drumsticks to refreshing tapioca drinks and more, Bayside Alley will satisfy the appetite of any fan.
Yokohama Stadium will become a venue for baseball and softball games during the 2020 Summer Olympics. Due to the crowded nature of sports events, it is best reached by train by either the Yokohama Municipal Subway's Blue Line at Kannai Station; or the Yokohama Minato Mirai Railway's Minato Mirai Line at Nihon Odori Station.
A 2-minute walk from the south exit of Kannai Station on the JR Negishi Line; a 5-minute walk from the north exit of Ishikawacho Station on the JR Negishi Line; a 3-minute walk from Exit 1 of Yokohama Municipal Subway Kannai Station; a 3-minute walk from Exit 2 of Nihon Odori Station on the Minatomirai Line.
