The Japanese Traditional Crafts Exhibition has been held every year since 1954, with the intent of protecting and nurturing various craft techniques. The exhibition will take place at the Shimane Art Museum and features works from seven categories, including pottery, dyeing and weaving, lacquer art, metalwork, wood bamboo work, dolls, and general crafts. In total, over 550 pieces will be displayed at the event.
Adult admission to the exhibition is priced at 600 yen.
The Shimane Art Museum is located a fifteen minute walk from Matsue Station, served by the San'in Main Line.
The museum is also one of the stops on the Lakeline Loop Bus (Kenritsu Bijutsukan-mae) if you'd prefer not to walk. The loop bus can be caught from the station directly, or from numerous tourist spots across Matsue City.
If you elect to drive to the museum, there is a parking lot on the opposite side of Route 9 which offers three hours free parking.
